Portrait of Layne

This is a portrait of Layne Sizemore (a first year photography student). Layne happily modeled for a portrait for an assignment for commercial class. We had to set up the studio and create lighting that would cause the background to go completely white...no shadows could show. We had to shoot it with medium format and scan it in to create a digital file. The exposure was F/8 @ 1/60 and we shot with a Mamiya 645 and used transparency film.
Layne was a lot of fun to photography. She had a lot of beautiful and fun expressions, which made my job easier. Thanks Layne for modeling for me!

You've captured a wonderful expression here. The raised eye brow and the comfortable posture of your sitter come together for a really fun portrait. And just look at that white, flare free background.

This is an excellent shot! Great job, the background is perfectly white and the model has a great expression too. Nice work.
